Who this guide is for

You are a student at the school. Your portal shows your results and report cards, your attendance, your fees and your exam permit status. You can also message your teachers and read the school's announcements.

Before you start

Your school gives you your sign-in details.

  1. Open your school's portal and go to the sign-in page. It shows your school's name.

  2. Enter your Email Address and Password, then select Sign In. You arrive on your Student Dashboard.

Signing in

If you would rather not use a password, select Sign in with an email code, enter your email and select Email me a code. If you have forgotten your password, select Forgot password?.

Find your way around on a computer

  1. Your pages are in the menu down the left side: Dashboard, My Results, My Attendance, My Fees, My Courses, Exams, Exam Permit, Messages, Announcements and AI Tutor. On a tablet, the same menu opens from the menu button at the top left.

  2. At the top, EN and FR switch between English and French wherever a page has been translated, and the sun or moon button switches between light and dark. Until you choose, the app follows your device's setting.

  3. To sign out, select your picture at the top right and then Sign out, or the sign-out icon beside your name at the bottom of the menu.

Use it on your phone

  1. Open your school's address in your phone's browser and sign in as above.

  2. The first time, a message may offer to install the school's app: select Install app, or Not now to carry on in the browser. On an iPhone or iPad it tells you to tap the Share button, then Add to Home Screen. The message is shown only once. The installed app opens from your home screen with your school's name and icon.

  3. Use the bar along the bottom of the screen: Today (your Dashboard), Tests (the Exams page), Results and Fees.

  4. Select More for My Attendance, Exam Permit, Messages, Announcements and the rest of the menu. At the bottom of it are Appearance (System, Light or Dark), Language (English or Français) and Sign out.

Change your name, phone or photo

Your school checks changes to a student's name, phone number and photo, so what you change here is sent to the school's staff who manage student records first. Your details stay as they are until it is approved.

  1. Select your picture at the top right, then My profile. On a phone, select More, then your name at the top.

  2. Change your First name, Last name or Phone number, and select Send for approval.

  3. To send a new photo, select Add a photo (or Change photo) and choose a JPEG, PNG or WebP image of up to 3 MB. Remove photo asks for your photo to be taken off. If there is no photo button, photo uploads are not set up for your school.

  4. A Waiting for approval box then shows what you asked for, including the photo you sent. You can send changes again while you wait: they replace what is waiting. To take the request back, select Withdraw request.

When somebody has decided, the box says so. If your request was approved, your new details are on the page, and your new name and photo are on your school record too. Your parents' phone numbers do not change. If it was not approved, your details are unchanged, and the box shows the reason if one was given: correct your details and send them again, or ask your form teacher or the school office.

Your email address and password are how you sign in, so they are not changed on this page. Under Email and password, Change password opens the page where you set a new one.

Your Dashboard

  1. Open Dashboard. On a phone, it is the Today tab.

  2. The first figures are your Attendance Rate for the term, your term Average and your Fee Balance. Select one to open that page. In your final year, your exam permits and whether each is cleared or blocked are shown too.

  3. Below are Today's Timetable, Recent Results and Upcoming Exams.

See your results

  1. Open My Results, or the Results tab on a phone. Each term is shown as a card with your average, your total and, where the school shows it, your position in the class. If your school marks out of 20, your average and subject totals are marks out of 20, for example 13.40/20.

  2. Select a term to open its report card. On a phone it is laid out as one column to scroll.

  3. Select Download PDF to save a copy.

Check your attendance

  1. Open My Attendance (under More on a phone).

  2. The top of the page shows your Attendance Rate, Days Present, Days Absent and Late Arrivals this term.

  3. Calendar shows each day of the term, marked Present, Absent, Late or Excused. Leave History lists your leave requests.

Check your fees

  1. Open My Fees, or the Fees tab on a phone, to see Total Billed, Total Paid and Balance Due.

  2. Below are your Invoices and your Payment History. Select Invoice PDF on an invoice to download, print or share it.

  3. Unpaid invoices show a Pay Now button, which opens your school's secure payment page for the balance, or shows the bank account to pay into. You can pay only your own invoices.

Where your school gives each student an account of their own for fees, the bank account shown is yours. It stays the same and does not expire, so your family can save it and send any amount, whenever they like. Money is applied to your oldest unpaid invoice first. If the page says your school does not take payments online yet, your parent or guardian can pay at the school office.

Sit an exam online

  1. Open Exams, or the Tests tab on a phone. The exams your teachers have published for your class are listed, with the subject, the time allowed and the marks. An exam that has not opened yet shows when it opens, and one whose closing time has passed shows Closed.

  2. Select Start. The questions appear, and Time left at the top counts down. Choose an answer for each multiple-choice question, and type your answer for each written one. Your answers are saved as you write: the top of the exam says Saving…, then Saved.

  3. Select Submit. Multiple-choice questions are marked straight away and your score is shown. Written answers are marked by your teacher, and your score comes later.

An exam you have submitted shows Submitted, with your score once it is marked, or Submitted · awaiting marking until then. You can submit an exam once. If you leave an exam before submitting it, or the page reloads, you change device or the connection drops, select Resume: you carry on from the answers that were saved, with the questions in the same order. Your teacher may give each student the questions, and their options, in a different order.

You have the time allowed from when you select Start, but no later than the exam's closing time. When the time runs out, your exam is handed in for you with the answers that were saved. A question you leave blank scores 0.

Course materials and handing in work

  1. Open My Courses (under More on a phone). The courses your teachers have set up for your class are listed by subject, with how many materials and assignments each has, and how many pieces of work you still have to hand in.

  2. Select a course. Materials lists the notes, files, videos and links your teacher has posted; select Open to read or watch one.

  3. Work set lists each assignment with its due date and marks, and whether it is To hand in, Overdue, Handed in, Handed in late or Marked.

  4. To hand in, type your answer, add a link to your work, or both, and select Hand in. A link must start with https://, for example a document or a photo of your written work shared from Google Drive.

You can change what you handed in, with Change my hand-in, until your teacher marks it. Once it is Marked you see your score and your teacher's feedback, and the work can no longer be changed. You can still hand in after the due date; your teacher sees that it was late.

Study with the AI tutor

  1. Open AI Tutor (under More on a phone). The subjects your teachers have written tutor topics for are listed; topics marked Exam topic are ones the exams often test.

  2. Select a subject, then Study on a topic, or open its parts and select Study this part to focus on one of them.

  3. Ask the tutor anything about that topic, or start with one of the suggestions, such as Quiz me. The tutor keeps to the topic, explains step by step and asks you questions back. It helps you work through an assignment but does not write it for you.

Your earlier topics are listed under Carry on studying, with your conversation so far. If the tutor says your school has used this month's allowance, tell your teacher.

If your school has AI Learning for its students, the page also offers Type and Talk. Talk lets you choose a subject and a topic and talk it through out loud with the tutor, which writes on a whiteboard as it explains; allow your microphone when the browser asks. My progress shows your time with the tutor and the topics you have covered. There is nothing else to sign in to.

Your exam permit

  1. Open Exam Permit (under More on a phone) to see your clearance status: Cleared, Blocked or Override (Admin).

  2. School examinations is your permit for the school's own examinations this term. It is issued once the required fees are cleared. When it is cleared, select Download Permit to save the permit as a PDF, and bring it to the examination hall.

  3. An external examination the school has registered you for is listed under the examining board's name, with your candidate number and the year. The board issues its own entry documents, so there is nothing to download for it here.

If no permits are listed, none has been issued to you yet. If you believe your status is wrong, contact the bursary.

Message a teacher

  1. Open Messages (under More on a phone) and select New message.

  2. Choose the Teacher you want to write to. Your own record is already chosen for you.

  3. Enter a Subject and your message, then select Send message.

  4. Open a conversation to read replies. Type in the reply box and select Send.

Read announcements

  1. Open Announcements (under More on a phone).

  2. The notices your school has published for students are listed, newest first.

  3. Select an announcement to read it in full.

Tips and common questions

  • My results are not showing. A term appears here once your school has published its results.

  • My permit is blocked. A permit is blocked while required fees are outstanding. Check My Fees, and talk to your parent or guardian.
